The clinical staff at Highgate Group Practice strongly advise patients to be vaccinated against Covid according to the current vaccination program.
Our practice is not a vaccination centre. The clinical staff do not have any say over which vaccine a patient will be offered at the vaccine centres and we have been directed not to make recommendations for individual patients to have specific vaccines outside the latest national guidelines. Those detailed guidelines are here, with the advice about contraindications on Pg19 and thrombosis on Pg 22:

In brief:
Patients who are over 40, and not pregnant and who do not have a history of heparin induced thrombosis with thrombocytopaenia (HITT or HIT2) can have any available vaccine, including Astra Zeneca.
Patients under 40 without underlying health conditions should have Pfizer or Moderna if available rather than AZ.
