Registrars
The
General Practitioner Training Scheme - Registrars
This
is a scheme for qualified doctors whose experience thus far has been mainly in
hospitals. As a training practice we have two doctors working with us for a year
to gain experience of general practice. Videotaping some consultations is part
of their training and is of great benefit to the doctor concerned. The receptionist
will inform you if videotaping is occurring and you will be asked for your consent.
We are very grateful to you for your co-operation in this valuable work.
Student Teaching
The Doctors and Nurses undertake the training of student Doctors and Nurses. From time to time students, attached to the Practice, will be taking part in consultations with the Doctors or Practice Nurses or directly with patients. If you would prefer that a student were not present, please let a member of the reception staff or the Doctor/Nurse know.

Administration
The Practice Director, Nicola Davies, is responsible for the organisation and general administration of the Practice. If you have any comments or suggestions about our service please let the Director know.
Reception
The Head of Reception is Rita Adamous who is responsible for the organisation and
management of the reception area. Our team of Receptionists will be able to:
• Help you make emergency and routine appointments
• Give test results
• Relay telephone messages to doctors and staff
• Help with numerous and varied general queries
It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patients’ records is maintained at the highest level by all staff.
Medical Secretaries
There are three secretaries, Gail Seidler, Julie Maxey and Monica Hayward, who
work for specific doctors and deal with:
- All medical correspondence
- Hospital appointments
- Information on consultants
- Hospital procedures
- Private referrals
- Non-urgent ambulance bookings
- Queries on the NHS and
Private sector services
The secretaries’ office
is open from 8.30am to 4.45pm Monday to Friday and they will be happy to help
you.
Insurance Clerk
The Insurance Clerk, Lois McKie, deals with the administration of:
- All private insurance
forms
- Private medical reports
(PPP etc)
- Disability badge applications
- Insurance company mortgage
applications
- Any other form for which
a fee is payable - current fees are shown on the notice board in the foyer
- Booking private medical
examinations
Lois can be contacted between
10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.
