The Highgate Group Practice moved to its present purpose-built premises in June 1986.
Our aim is to provide a high standard of care in all areas of family medicine.
We are a fully computerised Practice and all consultations, medical histories
and test results are recorded on each patient's computer record.
In order to make your visit as comfortable as possible we would ask patients to
refrain from the use of mobile telephones. We operate a no smoking policy.

Practice News and Notices
List Validation Policy
The PCT is responsible for managing the database of patients registered with local GP Practices. During 2012/13 they will be writing to all patients on their database who have not seen a GP in the last 15 months to confirm that they are still living at the same address. If you receive a letter please do not ignore it as failure to respond may mean that you are removed from the practice list.
If however you are removed, you will be asked by Reception to re-register providing current proof of address and filling in a registration from (failure to provide proof of address may prolong the registration process).
At no point will this affect your right to be seen here - we are just complying with the PCT guidelines.
DISABLED ACCESS
There is suitable access and facilities for the disabled.
TELEPHONE
Our switchboard has a direct dialling facility to nominated numbers, details of which will be given on request. Please follow the instructions when telephoning the main Practice number so that your call can be routed to the correct extension as quickly as possible. All other calls will be held in a queue and answered by reception as soon as possible and a message passed to the appropriate person. If you wish to speak directly with a Doctor you will be requested to provide information on the nature of the problem so that the urgency of the call can be assessed. Contact details of the caller will also be requested. A Doctor will phone back.
At busy times there may be a delay before your call can be answered.
For security and training purposes telephone calls may be recorded and monitored.
All out-of-hours calls are answered by the NHS 111 service on 1-1-1. This service is run by local GPs for all our patients - our answering machine will give you further advice on how and when this service is available. Please note this is for EMERGENCY problems which cannot wait until the surgery is next open and we would ask your co-operation and consideration in the use of this valuable service.
If you require health information or advice you may telephone NHS Direct which is a 24-hour nurse-led advice line on 0845 4647, or visit the website www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk
